Tertiary Prepper™ is a community-driven project. We publish volunteer submissions from people who want to share their knowledge, skills, and experience with others. By contributing, you are helping build a deeper, more practical layer of preparedness that benefits everyone.

CONTRIBUTOR AGREEMENT

1. Purpose and Agreement

Tertiary Prepper is a community publishing project operated by C317 Consulting LLC (“C317,” “Tertiary Prepper,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We invite adults to share practical knowledge, skills, and experience with the preparedness community.

This Contributor Agreement (the “Agreement”) applies to every article, tip, photograph, illustration, recording, video, link, or other material you send for possible publication (collectively, your “Submission”). By submitting, you agree to this Agreement and the Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not send material to us.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if higher, and legally capable of entering into this Agreement. We do not accept Submissions from minors.

3. What We Accept

We seek accurate, practical, respectful material concerning preparedness, including technical skills, culture, psychology, group dynamics, logistics, reviews, field guides, and lessons learned. Include relevant experience or credentials and reliable references where appropriate. Identify material risks, cautions, licensing requirements, and legal restrictions that readers should understand.

Do not submit material that is plagiarized, defamatory, unlawfully threatening or harassing, deceptive, confidential, invasive of privacy, infringing, malicious, or designed to facilitate unlawful conduct. Do not include malware, undisclosed promotional material, or dangerous instructions that lack an appropriate legitimate purpose, context, and safety information.

4. Generative AI and Human Responsibility

Submissions must be principally created and meaningfully reviewed by a human contributor. Before submission, you must disclose any use of generative AI to create or materially revise text, images, audio, video, citations, research summaries, or other substantive material. Ordinary spelling, grammar, formatting, and accessibility tools need not be disclosed unless they generate substantive content.

We may accept, reject, label, or request changes to AI-assisted material. Whether or not a tool was used, you remain fully responsible for accuracy, originality, source verification, permissions, safety, and compliance with this Agreement.

5. Ownership and License

You retain ownership of your Submission. The license below is non-exclusive, so you may publish or license your work elsewhere.

By submitting, you grant C317 a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, fully paid-up license, for the duration of the applicable intellectual-property rights, to reproduce, publish, edit, adapt, excerpt, translate, distribute, publicly display, publicly perform, archive, and otherwise use the Submission, in whole or in part, in media or formats now known or later developed, including the Site, newsletters, social media, compilations, print, and promotion of the Site or the Submission.

The license is irrevocable for any Submission we publish, subject to applicable law. It may be sublicensed to service providers, printers, platforms, syndication or distribution partners, and others reasonably necessary to exercise the licensed rights. It may be transferred with a sale, merger, reorganization, or transfer of the Site or the relevant business. We will not sell the Submission as a stand-alone work to an unrelated third party except under a separate written agreement with you.

You may request that we remove a published Submission. We will consider the request in good faith, but we are not obligated to remove material unless required by law. Removal from the Site does not require recall or deletion of newsletters, social-media posts, print copies, archived versions, sublicensed distributions, or other copies created before removal.

To the extent permitted by law, you waive and agree not to assert moral rights or similar rights that would prevent the editing, formatting, attribution, or other uses authorized by this Agreement. Where a waiver is not permitted, you consent to those uses.

6. Credit, Name, and Biography

We will make reasonable efforts to credit a published Submission under the name or pen name you provide. You may request anonymous publication. If we miss or incorrectly state a credit, we will use reasonable efforts to correct the online version after notice; an inadvertent credit error is not a material breach of this Agreement.

You grant us permission to use the submitted name or pen name, approved biographical information, credentials, and profile image in connection with the Submission and its promotion. You represent that this information is accurate and that its use will not violate another person’s rights.

7. No Compensation or Employment Relationship

Submissions are voluntary and unpaid. No fee, royalty, residual, or other compensation will become due for uses authorized by this Agreement, including use on advertising-supported pages or in Site-related materials offered for sale. A future paid-contributor program will apply only under a separate written agreement and only to work accepted under that program.

This Agreement does not create employment, partnership, joint venture, agency, fiduciary, or other representative authority. You may not make commitments or representations on behalf of C317.

8. Your Representations and Warranties

You represent and warrant that:

• you satisfy the eligibility requirements and have authority to enter into this Agreement;
• the Submission is original to you except for third-party material specifically disclosed to us, and you own or control all rights needed to grant the license;
• you have supplied all licenses, permissions, releases, credits, and other information reasonably necessary for third-party text, images, recordings, trademarks, quotations, locations, or identifiable people included in the Submission;
• the Submission does not infringe or misappropriate copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, contractual, or other rights;
• the Submission is accurate to the best of your knowledge, your stated credentials and experiences are truthful, and you have not fabricated sources, quotations, testing, or personal experience;
• the Submission does not unlawfully disclose another person’s private, confidential, or personal information and is not defamatory, deceptive, malicious, or otherwise unlawful;
• you have disclosed material risks, safety limitations, and legal restrictions associated with activities described in the Submission;
• you have disclosed any payment, free product, discount, employment, ownership interest, family relationship, or other connection that could affect how readers evaluate a review or recommendation;
• you have made the generative-AI disclosures required by Section 4 and have reviewed and verified all AI-assisted material; and
• the Submission contains no malicious code or hidden functionality.

9. Editorial and Publication Decisions

We may decline, schedule, format, excerpt, edit, update, label, unpublish, or remove a Submission at our discretion. We may make routine edits for grammar, clarity, length, formatting, accessibility, accuracy, legal compliance, safety, and house style without further approval.

We will ordinarily seek your approval before publishing an edit that materially changes the meaning attributed to you. If we cannot agree on a material change, we may decline or remove the Submission. Nothing requires us to publish, continue publishing, promote, or preserve a Submission.

10. Safety and Informational Use

Preparedness content can affect health, safety, property, and legal rights. You are responsible for exercising reasonable care in preparing the Submission, using reliable support, distinguishing personal experience from established fact, and identifying circumstances that require professional assistance. Publication is not our certification that a Submission is safe, complete, or suitable for every reader.

The Site’s Terms of Use—including its educational-purpose notice, assumption-of-risk language, warranty disclaimer, and limitation of liability—apply to every published Submission. Those provisions do not excuse either party’s unlawful conduct or eliminate liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you will indemnify, defend, and hold harmless C317 and its members, managers, officers, employees, and agents from third-party claims, damages, judgments, losses, liabilities, costs, and reasonable attorneys’ fees to the extent arising from (a) the Submission as you provided or approved it, (b) your breach of this Agreement, or (c) your unlawful conduct.

This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim results solely from a material alteration made by C317 that you did not authorize or approve. C317 will provide reasonably prompt notice of a covered claim and may control the defense and settlement with counsel of its choosing. You will reasonably cooperate and may not settle in a manner that admits fault by, imposes obligations on, or fails to provide a complete release to a protected party without C317’s written consent.

12. No Confidential Submission

Do not send trade secrets or information you expect us to keep confidential. Unless we separately agree in writing before submission, receiving or reviewing a Submission does not create a confidentiality, fiduciary, or professional relationship. This does not authorize us to use personal information contrary to our Privacy Policy or applicable law.

13. How to Submit and Accept This Agreement

Email your Submission to info@tertiaryprepper.com. Include your legal name, requested byline or pen name, relevant experience or credentials, reliable sources where appropriate, all required AI and commercial-relationship disclosures, and permissions for third-party material.

Your email must include: “I have read and agree to the Tertiary Prepper Contributor Agreement dated August 24, 2026, and I confirm that my Submission complies with it.” We will not consider a Submission that omits this statement. Keep a copy for your records; we will retain the submission email as the record of assent.

14. General

The Terms of Use, including their governing-law and venue provisions, are incorporated into this Agreement. If there is a conflict concerning a Submission, this Agreement controls. This Agreement and the Terms constitute the entire agreement about the Submission and supersede prior discussions or understandings concerning it.

If a provision is held unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the remaining provisions will remain effective. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Sections concerning licenses, compensation, representations, indemnification, confidentiality, and general provisions survive termination or removal of a Submission.
