    AI POLICY

    Tertiary Prepper™ (tertiaryprepper.com) | Last updated: August 25, 2026

    1. Purpose and Scope

Tertiary Prepper is a community publishing project operated by C317 Consulting LLC (“C317,” “Tertiary Prepper,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This AI Policy explains how generative artificial intelligence and other AI-assisted tools may be used in connection with content created, reviewed, submitted, or published by Tertiary Prepper.

Our goal is to preserve human responsibility, original authorship, accuracy, source integrity, intellectual-property rights, confidentiality, and reader trust while allowing responsible use of technology where appropriate.

    2. Human Responsibility

All content published by Tertiary Prepper must be principally created, meaningfully reviewed, and approved by a human. AI tools do not replace the judgment, experience, accountability, or editorial responsibility of an author, contributor, or editor.

Whether or not AI assistance is used, the human author or contributor remains responsible for the accuracy, originality, permissions, safety, sourcing, and legality of the material submitted or published.

    3. Permitted AI-Assisted Uses

AI-assisted tools may be used for limited support functions such as brainstorming, outlining, organization, editing assistance, grammar and clarity review, formatting, research assistance, summarization, or other support tasks when the resulting material is meaningfully reviewed by a human.

AI assistance may not be treated as an authoritative source. Factual claims, technical instructions, quotations, citations, legal requirements, health or safety information, and other material claims must be independently reviewed and verified as appropriate before publication.

    4. Contributor Disclosure

Contributors must comply with the Tertiary Prepper Contributor Agreement. Any use of generative AI to create or materially revise text, images, audio, video, citations, research summaries, or other substantive material must be disclosed before submission.

Ordinary spelling, grammar, formatting, and accessibility tools do not require disclosure unless they generate substantive content.

Tertiary Prepper may accept, reject, label, request changes to, or decline AI-assisted material at its discretion.

    5. Human Review and Editorial Control

AI-generated or AI-assisted material will not be published solely because an automated tool produced it. Tertiary Prepper may review, edit, verify, label, correct, reject, unpublish, or remove material when necessary for accuracy, safety, legal compliance, editorial standards, or house style.

Where AI assistance affects a material factual claim, technical instruction, safety-sensitive topic, quotation, citation, or source summary, human verification is required before publication.

    6. Source Verification and Citations

AI output is not itself a source. Authors and contributors should rely on identifiable, appropriate, and reliable source material when factual support is required.

AI-generated citations, quotations, statistics, case references, technical specifications, or source summaries must be verified against the underlying source before use. Fabricated, unverifiable, or materially misleading citations or quotations are prohibited.

    7. Intellectual Property and Originality

AI tools must not be used to knowingly reproduce, imitate, misappropriate, or publish material that infringes another person’s copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other legal rights.

Authors and contributors remain responsible for determining whether they have the rights, licenses, permissions, releases, or other authority necessary to use third-party text, images, recordings, trademarks, quotations, identifiable people, or other protected material.

Use of an AI tool does not transfer responsibility for originality or permissions away from the human author or contributor.

    8. Confidentiality and Personal Information

Do not enter trade secrets, confidential business information, private submissions, nonpublic personal information, passwords, account credentials, sensitive correspondence, or other information that should remain confidential into a generative-AI system unless its use has been specifically authorized and is consistent with applicable privacy, contractual, and security obligations.

Tertiary Prepper may restrict or prohibit use of particular AI tools when confidentiality, privacy, security, or intellectual-property concerns warrant doing so.

    9. AI-Generated Images, Audio, and Video

Materially AI-generated or AI-altered images, audio, or video may be used only when consistent with Tertiary Prepper’s editorial standards, applicable law, intellectual-property rights, and the Contributor Agreement.

When the use of AI-generated or materially altered media could reasonably affect how a reader understands the authenticity, source, or evidentiary value of the material, Tertiary Prepper may label or disclose that use.

    10. AI Detection Tools

AI detection tools may be considered as one informational signal, but Tertiary Prepper does not treat an automated detector score as conclusive proof of authorship.

AI detectors analyze statistical language patterns and may produce false positives or false negatives. Clear, structured, technical, instructional, or highly edited human writing may sometimes resemble patterns associated with machine-generated text.

When authorship questions arise, Tertiary Prepper may consider available evidence such as drafts, source material, publication dates, revision history, archived records, author explanations, and other relevant information rather than relying solely on an automated percentage score.

    11. Prohibited Uses

AI tools may not be used in connection with Tertiary Prepper to fabricate personal experience, credentials, testing, quotations, interviews, sources, citations, field results, or other factual claims.

AI tools may not be used to create or conceal plagiarism, impersonation, fraud, unlawful threats, deceptive content, malicious code, or material designed to facilitate unlawful conduct.

AI-generated or AI-assisted content must not be represented as independently verified when it has not been appropriately reviewed.

    12. Relationship to Other Tertiary Prepper Policies

This AI Policy supplements the Tertiary Prepper Terms of Use and Legal Notices, Contributor Agreement, Community Guidelines, Privacy Policy, and applicable editorial practices.

For contributor submissions, the Contributor Agreement controls where its provisions are more specific. Nothing in this AI Policy limits obligations imposed by applicable law, intellectual-property rights, privacy requirements, or other agreements.

    13. Updates

C317 may revise this AI Policy as technology, editorial practices, legal requirements, and the use of AI tools evolve. The “Last updated” date will be changed when the policy is revised.
