    1. Culture (Foundation)

    Why first?
    When the dust settles, people need a shared sense of norms, values, and direction to avoid fracturing. Without cultural cohesion, even the best-prepared groups can dissolve into infighting, mistrust, or splintering. Culture is also about coaching and training, both pre- and post-event, so groups are prepared to operate effectively under stress.

    Examples:

    • Establishing group rules, codes of conduct, and conflict-resolution mechanisms.
      • For instance: deciding whether to allow outsiders into a M.A.G. (Mutual Aid Group).
      • Handling internal threats or criminal actions, such as theft or violence against group members.
    • Defining jobs and responsibilities for each member, along with a hierarchy of individuals responsible for overarching decisions.
    • Shared rituals (meals, watches, meetings) that maintain morale and trust.
    • Preserving identity — music, storytelling, shared history — to sustain long-term resilience.
    • Coaching and training team members to reinforce cohesion, decision-making, and role clarity before and after a disaster.

    2. Psychology (Stability)

    Why second?
    Once a cultural baseline is in place, the next priority is psychological stability. Survivors may be traumatized, anxious, or burned out. Without stabilizing mental and emotional capacity, logistics will not be executed effectively.

    Examples:

    • Using tools like EQ, AQ, DISC, MBTI to understand group strengths and weaknesses.
    • Identifying high-risk personalities (narcissists, manipulators, quitters).
    • Building resilience routines: group prayer, journaling, decompression drills.
    • Training leaders in psychological “first aid” for stress, grief, or panic.

    3. Logistics (Execution)

    Why third?
    Logistics is about execution — but it only works if culture and psychology are stable first. With clear heads and trust in place, logistics becomes more than moving supplies. It transforms into a synchronized system of OPSEC, reconnaissance, food and water security, medical preparedness, and stealth planning.

    Examples:

    • Water purification improvisation (solar stills, sand/gravel/charcoal filtration)
    • Food preservation (canning, dehydrating, seed collection)
    • Improvised medical procedures (splints, wound care, suturing basics)
    • Reconnaissance and mapping – understanding terrain, safe routes, pace counts and tactical positioning.
    • Navigation without GPS (celestial navigation, compass triangulation, dead reckoning)
    • Stealth gardening / guerrilla food networks – growing and gathering food covertly.
    • Clandestine supply caches – prepositioning supplies to reduce risk during crisis.
    • OPSEC layering – using counter-recon, metal detecting, secure storage, and information discipline to protect group resources.
    • Alternative medicines & wild edibles – herbal antibiotics, antivirals, tinctures, foraging skills, and medicinal plant knowledge.
    • Improvised and technical skills – soldering, signaling, cryptography (writing and decoding ciphers), trap-making, fire-starting, water filtration innovations.
    • Communication systems – ham radio, morse code, signaling mirrors, code systems, or other low-tech redundancy networks.
    • Metalworking (cutting, welding, shaping metal for repairs)
    • Carpentry (building, repairing, and reinforcing structures, furniture, or shelters)
    • Automotive (maintaining and fixing vehicles and equipment like tractors and earth movers)
    • Fabric repair / sewing / leatherworking
    • Tools and equipment mastery – using and maintaining knives, axes, shovels, tools for construction, repair, and gardening.
    • Small engine repair (generators, chainsaws, vehicles)
    • Energy & resource management – micro-energy generation, fuel conservation, solar/wind, and hydro energy basics. Water catchment and irrigation improvisation, waste management, and composting.
    • Transportation and mobility – navigating terrain with vehicles, bicycles, or on foot, including stealth travel techniques.
    • Field engineering – temporary structures, improvised shelters, camouflaging, and fortification skills.
    • Situational adaptability – improvising solutions under duress, problem-solving in unpredictable scenarios.
    • Observation & monitoring – keeping watch, spotting hazards, tracking wildlife or other groups.
    • Record-keeping & documentation – maintaining logs for group resources, skills, and activities.

    This is not an exhaustive list — tertiary prepping encompasses any skill, tool, or knowledge that fills gaps left by primary and secondary preparations, giving a group the ability to thrive under varied and prolonged conditions.
